Day 1: Addis – Lalibela: Morning Flight to the holy land of new Jerusalem-Lalibela, We will met you at the Airport in Lalibela and drive about 23 km to the small town of Lalibela for check in and refreshment, after you will visit the Northern Group: Bet Medhane Alem, home to the Lalibela Cross and believed to be the largest monolithic church in the world, probably a copy of St Mary of Zion in Aksum. It is linked to Bete Maryam (possibly the oldest of the churches), Bete Golgotha (known for its arts and said to contain the tomb of King Lalibela), the Selassie Chapel and the Tomb of Adam after break proceed to visit the second group of the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela called Western Group: Bete Giyorgis, said to be the most finely executed and best preserved church &the third group called The Eastern Group: Bete Amanuel (possibly the former royal chapel), Bete Merkorios (which may be a former prison), Bete Abba Libanos and Bete Gabriel-Rufael (possibly a former royal palace). Day 2: Early in the morning, you will be taken to one of the churches to see the religious ceremony in Lalibela. Many Local people gather on Saturdays and Sundays to attend the Sabbath Festivity. At 10:00 am, you will be transferred to Lalibela Airport for your return flight to Addis Ababa.

Day 1 – Addis – Lalibela: In the morning, fly north to Lalibela and be transferred to your hotel. After lunch, visit the first group of Lalibela Churches which are located north of a small stream named Jordan River. These Churches were carved during the time of King Lalibela (1181 – 1221) and are registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Overnight Lalibela Lodge or Maribela Hotel.
Day 2 – Lalibela: After breakfast, have an excursion trip to the cave-built church of Ne’akuto Le’ab (13th Century AD) which is famous for its wide collection of ancient crosses, manuscripts, and icons. If this day is Saturday, spare some time at the interesting weekly market of Lalibela. After lunch, visit the second and third group of churches of Lalibela.

In the city of Lalibela you will see about Eleven Rock Churches organized into groups of three.

King Lalibela is said to have seen Jerusalem and then attempted to build a New Jerusalem as his capital. As such, many features have Biblical names – even the town's river is known as the River Jordan. It remained the capital of Ethiopia from the late 12th century and into the 13th century.
This tour starts from a domestic flight to Lalibela which departs at 07:00 AM - 08:10 AM from Addis Ababa. Upon arrival at Lalibela, your driver and guide welcome you and drive to the town for checking in your hotel. You will be visiting the whole (3) groups on the first day. On the second day midday, you will have a transfer to Lalibela Airport. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, at PM, your driver will meet you in Addis Ababa and provide you a transfer service to your hotel. If not, the tour ends at Bole International Airport with no pickup. The tour is run by air-conditioned Toyota Hiace minivan.
